King Bravado —
Promotional prints
Graphic design ✓
Set of promotional greyscale prints made in occasion of King Bravado’s (a doom metal/stoner rock band) change of line-up. The incoming of a new guitar player was a chance to promote visually the band’s musical style: feelings of impending dread and darkness were decoded graphically through a similar sci-fi imaginary presented in a pretty modular design. Six prints (1 generic + 5 singular-members posters), partially inspired by Virgil Finlay’s drawings, by A. G. Fronzoni grids, by some seventies ‘science comics’ and — involuntary — by a sort of Men’s Health magazine’s posing approach, amusingly emerged spontaneously while shooting the band with photographer Daša Bresciani. Quite bizzarre for an amplifier-devastating combo, but quite impressive for it’s singularity in the genre cliches.
